911 Emergency Communications
The South East Texas Regional Planning Commission’s (SETRPC) 9-1-1 emergency communications system went on line in December 1991 after four years of preparation involving local elected officials in Hardin, Jefferson and Orange counties. Under House Bill 911, Jefferson County was mandated to provide 9-1-1 service to its residents.
