Matter of Balance

This award winning program is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falls. The program utilizes volunteer coaches to teach eight two-hour sessions over a four or eight week period. The content specifically focuses on viewing falls as controllable, setting goals to increasing activity, making changes to reduce fall risks at home and increasing strength and balance through exercise.

Coaches Needed:
While it?s imperative for anyone who has concerns about falls to attend these classes, it?s also just as important for the program to acquire more qualified coaches. The coaches who facilitate the sessions are highly trained and certified. Each one is required to attend eight-hour training and earn a MOB certification.
