Regional Resources

 

The South East Texas Economic Development Foundation (SETEDF) is comprised of the three counties of Hardin, Jefferson, and Orange. The Regional Economic Development Initiative (REDI) is the steering committee of the SETEDF. REDI has prepared a Regional Approach to Economic Development.

The Entergy Site Selection Center provides a database of buildings and sites available in areas serviced by Entergy, along with demographic data for counties and communities in those service areas. The three county area serviced by the South East Texas Economic Development District is served by Entergy.

Lamar University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides resources to businesses that are just starting out, looking to move to the next level, and everything in between. The SBDC helps business owners through providing resources to help develop strategies, attract customers, increase sales, and improve productivity and profitability.

 

Area Economic Development Corporations

There are seven economic development corporations throughout Hardin, Jefferson, and Orange Counties: Groves EDC (409/960-5788), Nederland EDC (409/729-1020), Kountze EDC (409/246-3831), Lumberton EDC (409/755-0031 x101) Orange EDC (409/883-1077), Orange County EDC (409/883-7770), Port Arthur EDC (409/963-0579), Port Neches EDC (409/719-4211), Silsbee EDC (409/385-9549), and Sour Lake EDC (409/287-3573).

Area Chambers of Commerce

The three county region contains 12 chambers of commerce: Bridge City, Greater BeaumontGreater Port Arthur, Greater Orange, Groves, Kountze, Lumberton, Nederland, Port Neches, Silsbee, and Vidor.

Business Journal

The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce publishes the Beaumont Business Journal monthly.
