Post-Hurricane Harvey Homeowner Assistance Program Design Meetings
for Southeast Texas Public Officials and Recovery Leaders
Dear SETX Stakeholder,
The Texas General Land Office and AECOM – the vendor charged with executing the state’s Post-Hurricane Harvey long-term Homeowner Assistance Program (HAP) across Southeast Texas – will be hosting a series of program design meetings in November. The purpose of the meetings will be to inform and hear from community leaders working in areas affected by the disaster.
During these meetings, GLO/AECOM representatives will present an overview of the state’s forthcoming Homeowner Assistance Program, the methods used to determine unmet needs, and outline proposed strategies to reach families who have outstanding housing assistance needs. We will also solicit feedback on these items to help inform the final design of the Homeowner Assistance Program for our region. AECOM has prepared Regional Housing Guidelines and Regional Needs Assessment guidance documents for the HAP implementation in our region. These draft documents are posted on the GLO recovery website (http://recovery.texas.gov/public-notices/index.html) through November 18, 2018 for public review and comment. We encourage you to review these documents and provide feedback, either in writing via the website or in person at any of the meetings listed below.
Elected officials, governmental staff, volunteer agency liaisons, nonprofit disaster recovery representatives, VOAD representatives, and community organization representatives from listed counties are encouraged to attend to provide their perspectives and recommendations.
