Detailed Demographic Data through the Census Bureau
The Census Long Form provided detailed demographic data prior to the 2010 Census. Now, the Census conducts a yearly survey, known as the American Community Survey, to obtain this data. The Census Bureau releases 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year estimates every year. 1-year estimates are only available for geographies with 65,000+ population, 3-year estimates are only available for geographies wth 20,000+ population, and five year estimates are available for geographies of all sizes. American Community Survey data can be accessed at American Fact Finder.
