911 ADDRESS REQUEST / VERIFICATION INFORMATION

We provide addressing assistance for the unincorporated areas of Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, and Orange counties. Office hours are 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday. If you’re the owner of the property, please call 409-724-1911 / 409-347-1911 and the 9-1-1 Addressing Division will be happy to assist you.

If you’re not the owner of the property, please have the current owner or the seller’s realtor give us a call to complete the new address request / current address verification.

Once the information has been provided and our department is able to assist, our turnaround time is 3-5 business days. If fieldwork is needed (very common in rural areas) or there is an unexpected delay, we will communicate with the parties involved to get the matter resolved. Not all requests guarantee an address.

The more information we have, the more accurate our data can be for emergency responders.

You may need a new address / address verification if you are:

  • Building a new residence or business
  • Moving a mobile home onto a piece of land
  • Selling/Completing a property transaction, and/or
  • Wanting a physical address for mail delivery***
  • Pulling a permit
  • Connecting utilities
  • County Appraisal District exemptions

The owners of the property must provide some or all of the following information to request an address:

  • Road the property is located
  • Property ID as provided by the County Appraisal District
  • Title/Deed Transfer – If property was recently closed on, the County Appraisal District website may not show recent changes immediately. We will need the purchase documentation to verify ownership.
  • Entrance/Access to the Property Location – Latitude/Longitude Coordinates of where the entrance/access of the property is located if the property has over 100ft of frontage along the road. (If the property does not touch any named roads recognized by the county, proof of an access easement official documentation must be shown. Otherwise, the property is LANDLOCKED and cannot be addressed.)
  • Survey completed by a licensed surveyor, if recently divided.
    • Metes and Bounds information – It is important that the Point of Beginning (POB) with Northern/Easting are included to find where the property boundary begins.
    • Site plan – this applies for entities developing land and may have multiple addresses needed.
      • Examples of this are:
        • Subdivisions
        • Pipeline projects
        • Shopping Strips
        • Apartment Complexes
        • RV Parks
        • Gas stations

***If you live in an area where there is no physical mail delivery by USPS and it’s PO Box only, we cannot verify the zip code because it does not exist. We can verify the address number and street name only.
