SOLICITATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENT

Fair Housing Activity Statement – Texas (FHAST) Form

Notice is hereby given that the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission (SETRPC) is seeking input on its Fair Housing Activity Statement – Texas (FHAST) Form.  The FHAST Form was created to help the SETRPC perform assessments of impediments to fair housing choice, plan actions to address identified impediments and communicate plans to the State of Texas and HUD.  Upon public review, comment and approval by the SETRPC Executive Committee, the FHAST Form will become the SETRPC’s Fair Housing Action Plan (Action Plan).

Copies of the FHAST Form can be obtained at SETRPC's Offices or electronically by clicking on SETRPC FHAST Form.

Written and/or oral comments regarding the SETRPC’s FHAST Form will be taken at a public hearing scheduled for the following date, time and location:

Census 2010

2010 Census

2010 Census Data has been released for Texas. The South East Texas Regional Planning Commission is posting detailed tables containing Census information as they become available here.

Detailed demographic information, such as income, poverty, and educational attainment, is now available through the American Community Survey and is no longer part of the decennial Census. Information and tables from the American Community Survey that are comparable to previous Census data are being posted at the link above.  More information on the American Community Survey can be found here.

Area Agency on Aging Request for Vendors

The South East Texas Regional Planning Commission (SETRPC) is accepting applications for vendors for the Area Agency on Aging of Southeast Texas’ (AAASET) Direct Purchase for Services program.  Applications are being requested for consideration to serve clients in Hardin, Jefferson, and Orange Counties for a variety of services and goods including:

• In-home Provider Services (Homemaker & Personal Assistance)
• Residential repair (general home repairs, building ramps, & bathroom modifications)
• Plumbing repair
• Air Conditioning & Heating purchases/installation/repair
• Home Appliance purchases/installation/repair
• Furniture purchases
• Medical / Health Maintenance Supplies
• Health Screening
• Mental Health Counseling
• Emergency Response devices & installation
• Chore Maintenance
• Lawn Maintenance
• Transportation
• Child Care
• After-school Child Care
• Pharmacies

The AAA Direct Purchase of Services program is designed to promote the development of a comprehensive and coordinated service delivery system to meet the needs of older individuals (age 60 and older).  Vendor agreements provide a mechanism for the creation of a network of community resources created on a client-by-client basis through the Older Americans Act, as amended, and the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services’ AAA Access and Assistance guidelines and the Texas Administrative Code requirements and restrictions.
